20th Century Studios’ ‘White Men Can’t Jump’ Premiere Photos

This week, Disney hosted a special red-carpet event at Hollywood’s El Capitan Theatre to celebrate the premiere of 20th Century Studios’ all-new comedy “White Men Can’t Jump.”  The all-new comedy begins streaming on 19 May, exclusively on Hulu, and on Disney+ under the Star banner in the UK, Canada, Australia and many other countries. 

The modern remix of the 1992 film that celebrates the streetball hustling culture of Los Angeles. Sinqua Walls stars as Kamal, once a promising player who derailed his future in the sport, and multi-platinum rap superstar Jack Harlow makes his movie debut as Jeremy, a former star of the game whose injuries stalled his own career. Juggling tenuous relationships, financial pressures and serious internal struggles, the two ballers—opposites who are seemingly miles apart—find they might have more in common than they imagined possible.

On hand for the event from the film were Sinqua Walls, Jack Harlow, Teyana Taylor, Laura Harrier, Myles Bullock, Anthony Hamilton Jr., Slink Johnson, J. Alphonse Nicholson, Arturo Castro, Calmatic (directed by/EP), Doug Hall (screenplay by/story by), Paul Hall (produced by), Ryan Kalil (EP), Noah Weinstein (EP), E. Brian Dobbins (EP) and James Powers (EP), in addition to a host of special guests.

The movie is directed by Charles “Calmatic” Kidd II. The story is by Kenya Barris & Doug Hall, and the screenplay is by Doug Hall and Kenya Barris. “White Men Can’t Jump” is produced by Kenya Barris, with Charles “Calmatic” Kidd II, Blake Griffin & Ryan Kalil, James Powers, Paul Hall, Doug Hall, and Brian Dobbins serving as executive producers.
