Disney has removed eight movies from Disney+ in the United Kingdom and Ireland over the weekend.
The removals came as a bit of a surprise since Disney+ does not announce which titles will be leaving every month.
The removals are primarily StudioCanal movies that were licensed to Disney, meaning that these movies were never owned directly by Disney. Disney likely licensed these films as they must have a certain amount of content created within Europe due to local regulations.
It’s unknown if or when these movies might return to Disney+, but it appears that the license for these films have expired, so it seems unlikely that they’ll be returning anytime soon.
Movies Removed From Disney+
- Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy
- Guernsey
- I Give It a Year
- Man Up
- The Mercy
- Mindhorn
- The Sense of an Ending
