‘9-1-1’ Renewed For Season 8 at ABC

9-1-1” has been renewed for an eighth season by ABC.

Earlier this year, Fox announced its decision not to renew the show, produced by 20th Television. However, Disney’s ABC stepped in to pick up the show for its seventh season.

Season 7 premiered in March and ABC’s most-watched current series across all platforms this season.  According to Deadline, the season seven premiere of 9-1-1 in March delivered a cumulative audience of 11.76 million total viewers within the first seven days, and marked the series’ highest-rated multiplatform telecast in nearly two years in Adults 18-49.

“9-1-1” is an American procedural drama television series created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Tim Minear for the Fox Broadcasting Company. The series follows the lives of Los Angeles first responders: police officers, paramedics, firefighters and dispatchers. The series premiered on January 3, 2018, originally on Fox.

The series stars Angela Bassett as Athena Grant, Peter Krause as Bobby Nash, Jennifer Love Hewitt as Maddie Kendall, Oliver Stark as Evan “Buck” Buckley, Kenneth Choi as Howie “Chimney” Han, Aisha Hinds as Henrietta “Hen” Wilson, Ryan Guzman as Eddie Diaz and Gavin McHugh as Christopher Diaz.

Past seasons of ‘9-1-1’ can be streamed on Hulu, while they are exclusively available on Disney+ in numerous countries, including the UK and Canada.
