ABC News has announced a new special “Jeremy Renner: The Diane Sawyer Interview — A Story of Terror, Survival and Triumph” which will air on Thursday, April 6, on ABC and stream the next day on Hulu and Disney+ in the United States. A Disney+ international release date has not been announced.
In the special, Jeremy Renner gives the first interview since his near-fatal snow plow accident with ABC News anchor Diane Sawyer. The exclusive also features harrowing recollections of the accident from family members of Renner’s, including his nephew he was trying to protect, and behind-the-scenes snapshots from his ongoing journey to recovery.

The special airs a week before Renner’s new series “Rennervations” on Disney+. The actor is expected to appear in person at the “Rennervations” world premiere, taking place April 11 at Los Angeles’ Regency Village Theater which will be his first press event since the accident.
