ABC Network is not moving forward with its fairytale drama series, “Epic” from Once Upon a Time creators Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis. Deadline reports “Epic” was considered “a big swing and an admirable effort”, but “just did not quite come together”.
“Epic” was described as a romantic anthology series that reinvents fairy tales for a new generation.
Modern Family actress Sarah Hyland was attached to star in the series alongside Brittany O’Grady (Star) and Eleanor Fanyinka (Tom and Jerry).
“Epic” was written by former Once Upon a Time writer Brigitte Hales, who executive produces with Horowitz, Kitsis and Griffiths. James Griffiths (The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers) directed the pilot.
Yesterday, ABC announced it had given a series order to pilot “Promised Land,” a Latinx family drama starring John Ortiz and Christina Ochoa.
