Adam Ray, who portrayed Jay Leno in Pam and Tommy, has been added to the cast of Hulu’s upcoming limited series “Immigrant.”
According to Deadline, Ray will play Larry the Emcee in the show and join previously announced cast Kumail Nanjiani, Murray Bartlett (The White Lotus), Annaleigh Ashford, Andrew Rannells (Black Monday), Dan Stevens (Legion, Eurovision Song Contest: The Story Of Fire Saga), Juliette Lewis. Robin De Jesús (Tick, Tick, BOOM!) Quentin Plair (The Good Lord Bird), Spencer Boldman (Lab Rats), and Nicola Peltz (Transformers: Age of Extinction) in a guest role.
“Immigrant” follows the story of Banerjee (Kumail Nanjiani), the Indian-American entrepreneur who started the famed troop Chippendales. The show will detail the insane, darkly comedic, crime-ridden story behind the unique male revue that became a cultural phenomenon.
Matt Shakman will direct and executive produce the series. Shakman has previously worked on Marvel’s WandaVision and The Great. He replaces originally announced Ramin Bahrani ahead of the series’ start of production.
The project hails from Pam & Tommy creator Robert Siegel.
Robert Siegel is the show’s writer and executive producer alongside Nanjiani, Dylan Sellers, Jenni Konner, Ramin Bahrani, Emily V. Gordon and Rajiv Joseph.
Siegel and Konner serve as co-showrunners. Jacqui Rivera is co-executive producer, Nora Silver is producer and Annie Wyman is co-producer.
20th Television serves as the studio on the series.
The series will also be coming to Disney+ Internationally including the U.K. and Canada, under the Star banner at a later date.
