‘Ahsoka’ Filming and Release Date Reportedly Revealed

Recently, it was announced that Hayden Christensen is set to reprise his role of Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader in the upcoming live-action “Ahsoka” series at Disney+.  How Christensen’s character will fit into the upcoming series remains to be seen since the events are set to take place 5 years after Return of the Jedi, however, Star Wars fans were enthusiastic to receive the news.

Rosario Dawson will be reprising her role as Ahsoka in the limited series who we last saw in Season 2 of The Mandalorian. Dave Filoni is also attached to write the show and is exec producing with Jon Favreau.

Production on the series was slated to begin in March 2022 in Los Angeles and according to Bespin Bulletin’s sources, the series is planning a production that lasts until the fall of 2022 which means that the series could be looking at a spring 2023 release on Disney+.

Insider Daniel Richtman previously revealed the following logline and synopsis for the series:

Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson) is on the hunt for the evil Grand Admiral Thrawn in the hope it will help her locate the missing Ezra Bridger, the young Jedi that disappeared with Thrawn many years ago. Based on characters from the “Star Wars” franchise. A spinoff of the TV series “The Mandalorian.”

Rumors have suggested that Mena Massoud (Aladdin) had reportedly been cast to play Bridger and Lars Mikkelsen has been linked to the role of Thrawn however nothing has been confirmed so far.  The Clone Wars character Barriss Offee and Sabine Wren from Star Wars: Rebels have also been rumored to appear in the upcoming series.

“Ahsoka” will consist of 8 episodes.  A release date has not been announced by Disney+ yet.
