Disney has found its Tiger Lily for its new live-action “Peter Pan and Wendy” film. According to The Illuminerdi, the studio is eyeing newcomer Alyssa Alook (full name Alyssa Wapanatâhk) for the role. The actress has only appeared in a few short films. If the casting is finalized, Peter Pan and Wendy will mark her feature film debut.
Alook will join previously announced cast Jude Law who will play the iconic villain Captain Hook, Yara Shahidi who will play Tinker Bell, Ever Anderson who will play Wendy and Alexander Molony who will play Peter Pan. “Pete’s Dragon” director David Lowery has signed on to direct the film. Lowery co-wrote the script with Toby Halbrooks, and Jim Whitaker is producing. We are still awaiting casting news for other key roles including Mr. Smee, and the rest of the Darling family.
“Peter Pan and Wendy” is expected to start filming in Vancouver, Canada on March 8, 2021, and should wrap by June 30, 2021.
Currently, there are mixed reports whether “Peter Pan and Wendy” will be a theatrical release or if the film will be released on Disney+.
