‘American Idol’ Finalist Anoop Desai Joins ‘What We Do in the Shadows’ Season 4

Former American Idol finalist Anoop Desai has joined the cast of “What We Do in the Shadows” Season 4  in a major recurring role.  Desai will reportedly appear in six of ten episodes.

“What We Do in the Shadows” follows four vampires who’ve “lived” together for hundreds of years. After an unexpected visit from their dark lord and leader, they’re reminded of what they were initially tasked with upon their arrival in Staten Island over a hundred years ago – total and complete domination of the New World. But what exactly is the best way to go about achieving said domination?

According to Deadline, Desai will play an acquaintance of Nandor’s from his ancestral homeland.  Desai is an actor and singer-songwriter who placed as a finalist on American Idol‘s eighth season. He also recently guest-starred on Season 2 of Netflix’s Russian Doll and appeared in Showtime’s Billions.

Executive Producers on the series are Paul Simms, Clement, Waititi, Stefani Robinson, Garrett Basch and Eli Bush.

The show is produced by FX Productions.

Season 4 of “What We Do in the Shadows” will premiere on FX on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, and stream the next day on Hulu.  Season 4 is also expected to arrive on Disney+ internationally however a release date for those regions has not been announced yet.

Previous seasons of “What We Do in the Shadows” are available to stream now on Hulu in the United States and on Disney+ internationally including the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Canada.

The series has also been renewed for a fifth and sixth season.
