Angelique Cabral (Big Sky, Life in Pieces) has joined the voice cast of Disney’s upcoming animated feature film “Wish,” Deadline reports. According to the outlet, she will voice Queen Amaya opposite Chris Pine who stars as King Magnifico, ruler of the magical kingdom of Rosas, where wishes really do come true.
The all-new musical-comedy follows Asha (Oscar winner, Ariana DeBose), a sharp-witted idealist who makes a wish so powerful that it is answered by a cosmic force — a little ball of boundless energy called Star. Together, Asha and Star set out to prove that when the will of one courageous human connects with the magic of the stars, wondrous things can happen. Alan Tudyk also stars as the talking goat, Valentino Hall.
Oscar-winning director Chris Buck (Frozen franchise) and Fawn Veerasunthorn (Raya and the Last Dragon) are directors, with Peter Del Vecho (Frozen franchise) producing and Juan Pablo Reyes (Encanto) co-producing. Allison Moore (Night Sky, Manhunt) is also a co-writer.
Original songs are by Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Julia Michaels and Grammy-winning producer-songwriter-musician Benjamin Rice, plus score by Dave Metzger.
Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Wish,” opens exclusively in US theatres on November 22, 2023, and in UK cinemas on November 24, 2023.
