Back in April, it was announced that Malcolm Spellman, head writer and show creator for The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, would return to write the script for Captain America 4. No other details have been released since then but Marvel fans were hopeful that Anthony Mackie would return to reprise his role from the Disney+ series.
According to Deadline, Anthony Mackie has now officially signed on for the project.
Not much is known about Captain America 4 except that the film will focus on Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson instead of Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers. It’s also unknown if Sebastian Stan who starred with Mackie in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier will reprise his role as Bucky Barnes.
Aside from Spellman, Captain America 4 is being scripted by The Falcon and the Winter Soldier series staff writer Dalan Musson. A director for the film has not been announced yet.
