‘Armor Wars’ Head Writer Offers Update on Disney+ Series

Over the weekend, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige provided an update and announced Phases 5 and 6 of the MCU From the Marvel Studios panel in Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con 2022.  One project was notably missing from the line-up and that was the Disney+ series “Armor Wars.”   The show was first announced at 2020’s Disney Investor Day presentation but there have been few updates since then, leaving fans to wonder about the status of the project.

The series head writer, Yassir Lester recently took to Instagram to give fans his own update, which you can see below:

Kevin Feige recently said there are still 8 Marvel projects that are going to be revealed for the sixth phase of the MCU.   With the D23 Expo on the horizon this September, it’s possible we could hear more information then.

The series is based on the Marvel Comics of the same name.  Like all Marvel projects, plot details are being kept under wraps but we do know the show poses the following question: What would happen if Tony Starks technology fell into the wrong hands? Don Cheadle will reprise his role of James Rhodes aka War Machine and Kevin Feige will produce.

Yassir Lester (Black Monday) has been tapped as head writer.  A director has not been attached to the project yet.

Earlier reports indicated that filming could begin this fall.

Don Cheadle’s War Machine will also reportedly appear in Marvel’s upcoming “Secret Invasion” series which premieres in Spring 2023 on Disney+.

An exact Disney+ release date for Marvel’s “Armor Wars” has not been announced yet.
