According to a new report, Austin Butler (Elvis) is lobbying for a role in Marvel’s upcoming “Fantastic Four” film.
The news comes from Hollywood insider Jeff Sneider, who revealed the following on his The Hot Mic podcast.
“I heard this a month ago, and decided not to report it since it’s so thin and frivolous, (…) but I’d always heard that [Butler’s] reps were putting him up for Human Torch.”
As always, since nothing has been confirmed by Marvel or Disney, we will treat this as a rumor for now.
Not much is known about the “Fantastic Four” reboot except characters Reed Richards (Mister Fantastic), Sue Storm (Invisible Woman), Johnny Storm (Human Torch) and Ben Grimm (The Thing) will return.
Matt Shakman (WandaVision) was recently confirmed to direct “Fantastic Four.” Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer are on board to write the script.
Moon Knight producers Grant Curtis and Nick Pepin will also serve as producers on the new “Fantastic Four” film along with Kevin Feige.
No official casting news has been announced yet but it was recently rumored that Adam Driver may have met with Marvel Studios for an unknown role in the film.
Marvel’s “Fantastic Four” is scheduled to hit theaters on February 14, 2025.
