Ayo Edebiri (The Bear) has reportedly joined Marvel Studios’ upcoming “Thunderbolts” film in an undisclosed role. The movie is set to release in theaters on July 26, 2024.
Plot details for the film are under wraps however it revolves around a group of villains who are sent on missions commissioned by the government.
Cast previously announced for “Thunderbolts” includes David Harbour as Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, Wyatt Russell as John Walker/U.S.Agent, Florence Pugh reprising her role as Yelena Belova and Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster.
Harrison Ford is also expected to reprise his role as General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross from Captain America: New World Order.
Ryan Gosling or Alexander Skarsgård have been rumored to play a villain in the film however nothing has been confirmed.
Jake Schreier has been tapped as director, Eric Pearson (Black Widow) is penning the script with Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige producing.
Edebiri’s credits include playing Sydney on FX’s “The Bear” and can also be seen in Searchlight Pictures’ newly acquired film Theater Camp which just had its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival.
“Thunderbolts” hits theaters on July 26, 2024.
