Marvel Studios’ Black Widow will debut with 22 minutes of select scenes in expanded aspect ratio exclusively on Imax.
Several scenes from the film will be specially formatted for Imax theaters where the audience can experience it on the oversized screen at 1.90:1 aspect ratio which shows up to 26% more of the onscreen image. Those sequences will fill the entire Imax screen.
This is not the first time Marvel has released a film in this format. Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame both used the larger aspect ratio for the entire film. Films such as Doctor Strange and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, used the expanded aspect ratio in portions of the movie (mainly during action sequences).
