Boyd Holbrook (Narcos) and Shaunette Renée Wilson (Black Panther) will join the cast of Indiana Jones 5. They will co-star alongside previously announced Harrison Ford, Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag) Mads Mikkelsen (Hannibal), and Thomas Kretschmann (Avengers: Age of Ultron). It is unknown at this time who Holbrook and Wilson will play in the film.
Holbrook is best known for his roles in Narcos, Logan, and 20th Century’s reboot The Predator. He most recently starred in Eight To Silver.
Wilson was one of the leads on Fox’s The Resident and also recently appeared in Showtime’s Billions.
James Mangold will take over for Steven Spielberg to direct the film, however, Spielberg will still serve as a producer and is very much involved in the project. Kathleen Kennedy, Frank Marshall, and Simon Emanuel will join Spielberg as producers.
John Williams, who has worked on every score in the Indiana Jones franchise, will also return as composer.
This will be the first Indiana Jones movie created since Disney purchased Lucasfilm. The four previous Indiana Jones movies, Raiders Of The Lost Ark (1981), Indiana Jones and the Temple Of Doom (1984), Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989), and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull (2008), were distributed by Paramount.
Production is expected to begin this summer. Indiana Jones 5 is set to release on July 29, 2022.
