Disney+ launched in the United Kingdom and many other European countries on March 24, 2020.
The new streaming service offers thousands of viewing options including original movies and series and the best content from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic.
Disney+ is also the new streaming home of the iconic animated series “The Simpsons,” with over 600 episodes available together on-demand for the first time.
CAN YOU WATCH DISNEY PLUS ON BT?
As it stands, Disney+ is not available as an app on BT. BT customers can still sign-up and watch Disney+ on an Apple TV or an Amazon Fire Stick, for example. BT customers just don’t have the option to have Disney+ integrated directly into their TV boxes.
There’s been no official word if Disney+ will be available directly on BT in the future. BT and Disney are supposedly in talks to bring Disney+ to its BT TV platform, according to the Sunday Times.
The only set-top box offering Disney Plus is Sky Q, which allows Sky customers to pay for the service as part of their contract – an extra £5.99 a month.
Disney and Sky have had a close relationship for years, and it seems likely that Sky has some type of exclusivity. Potentially, if and when that deal expires, Disney+ could be expanded to BT and other providers.
