Composer Jake Monaco to Score Disney+ Film ‘Flora & Ulysses’

Jake Monaco has been tapped to compose the score for the upcoming Disney+ Original live-action movie “Flora & Ulysses.”   The composer has worked on many other Disney projects including “Forky Asks A Question”, “Lamp Life”, “Out”, Pixar’s “Piper” and “Muppets Most Wanted.”

“Flora & Ulysses” is an original movie based on the Newberry Award-winning children’s book “Flora & Ulysses: The Illuminated Adventures” by Kate DiCamillo and features an all star cast.

Directed by Lena Khan, “Flora & Ulysses” tells the story of a 10-year-old Flora, an avid comic book fan, who saves a squirrel she names Ulysses only to have its unique superhero powers wreak havoc in a series of humorous and antic-filled adventures that ultimately change Flora’s life forever.

Making her big-screen debut as Flora is Broadway star Matilda Lawler, with Alyson Hannigan (“How I Met Your Mother”) as Flora’s romance-writer mother Phyllis, Ben Schwartz (“Parks and Recreation”) as her estranged father George, Danny Pudi (“Community”) as an overly zealous animal control officer Miller, and newcomer Benjamin Evans Ainsworth as Flora’s friend William.

A release date for “Flora & Ulysses” has not been announced yet.

I love to write, read, plan trips, spend time with family and friends, nature, live music, wine and the occasional Dole Whip. I also love my Border Collie who is obsessed with watching football and Conan O'Brien.
