Could Marvel’s ‘Ms. Marvel’ Disney+ Series Have Multiple Seasons?

Marvel Studios’ upcoming Disney+ series “Ms. Marvel” was originally announced to be coming to Disney+ last fall however new reports suggest the series will launch in August or September.

Kevin Feige has described Ms. Marvel “as one of the newer characters in the Marvel Comic Universe.” The six-part series is based on the popular comics revolving around 16-year-old Pakistani-American and New Jersey native Kamala Khan.  Iman Vellani will play the titular hero.

The series also stars the Aramis Knight, Saagar Shaikh, Rish Shah, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur, Matt Lintz, Yasmeen Fletcher, Laith Naki, Azher Usman, Travina Springer, Nimra Bucha, and Farhan Akhtar.

A new rumor points to more seasons being planned for the series based on the gifts the production crew received.  In a since-deleted tweet from a crew member, an image was posted of a glass with the show’s logo with “season 1” underneath it.  While not a confirmation the show will receive a second season, it’s interesting that Season 1 was featured on the gift.

Earlier this year, Marvel Studios CEO Kevin Feige said that some Disney+ shows “are being built with multiple seasons in mind.” So far, the only Marvel Disney+ series that have been confirmed to have a second season are Loki and What If…?

It has also been confirmed that Iman Vellani’s Kamala Khan is set to reprise her role in The Marvels, which releases in theaters on February 17, 2023.

Bisha K. Ali is set as co-writer and showrunner for “Ms. Marvel,” with four directors including Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, Adil El Arbi, Billal Fallah and Meera Menon.
