Today, during Star Wars Celebration 2023 in London, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy announced a new Star Wars film which will see Daisy Ridley back as Rey as she builds a new Jedi Order.
Plot details for the new film are being kept under wraps however it will be set after the events of Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker. The film is not a continuation of the Skywalker Saga but could feature characters who were introduced in the sequel trilogy.
Oscar-winner and Ms. Marvel director Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy is still attached to helm the project. Steven Knight (Peaky Blinders) is set to write the screenplay for the untitled Star Wars movie.
Yahya Abdul-Mateen II has been rumored to have been cast as one of the leads in the upcoming film, however, that has not been confirmed.
