‘Descendants 4’ Gets An Official Title

Disney confirmed that a fourth installment of the popular Descendants franchise was in the works back in September 2022 during the D23 Expo.

Originally, the movie was given a working title, “The Pocketwatch,” but Disney has now officially announced that the movie is titled “Descendants: The Rise of Red.”

The announcement was made via Twitter:

Sam Morelos (That 90s Show), Anthony Pyatt (When I’m With You), Peder Lindell (Out Of My Hands), Mars (Heather), Tristan Padil (The Lake Merritt Monster), Kabir Bery (Squatting), Grace Narducci (Law & Order: SVU) and newcomer Aiza Azaar have all joined the cast.

Additional cast includes Kylie Cantrall, Rita Ora, Malia Baker, Brandy, Jeremy Swift and Leonardo Nam.

“Descendants: The Rise of Red” follows the story of Red (Cantrall), the rebellious daughter of the Queen of Hearts (Ora); and Chloe (Baker), Cinderella’s (Brandy) perfectionist daughter. When the Queen of Hearts incites a coup against Auradon, polar opposites Red and Chloe must join forces and travel back in time to undo the traumatic adolescent event that set Red’s mother down her villainous path.

The movie is expected to debut on Disney+ sometime later this year.
