According to a new rumor, Dev Patel (Slumdog Millionaire) is being eyed for a major role in Marvel Studios’ upcoming “Fantastic Four” film.
The rumor comes from Leaker MSSmods on Reddit who posted to the r/MarvelStudiosSpoilers subreddit that Adam Driver is not a frontrunner for Reed Richards, but Marvel is currently interested in Patel for the role.
As always, since nothing has been confirmed by Marvel or Disney, we will treat this as a rumor for now.
Not much is known about the “Fantastic Four” reboot except characters Reed Richards (Mister Fantastic), Sue Storm (Invisible Woman), Johnny Storm (Human Torch) and Ben Grimm (The Thing) will return.
Matt Shakman (WandaVision) is confirmed to direct “Fantastic Four.” Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer are on board to write the script.
Moon Knight producers Grant Curtis and Nick Pepin will also serve as producers on the new “Fantastic Four” film along with Kevin Feige.
No official casting news has been announced yet.
Marvel’s “Fantastic Four” is scheduled to hit theaters on February 14, 2025.
