Diego Luna Gives Filming Update On ‘Star Wars: Andor’ Season 2

Season 2 of “Andor” began filming in November 2022 and was scheduled to continue through August 2023.  The second season of the Disney+ Original series “was reportedly just weeks from wrapping filming but was forced to temporarily pause production due to the SAG-AFTRA strike.

Diego Luna, who stars in the series recently gave an update on the filming status.

‘Star Wars: Andor’ Season 2 Filming Update

During an interview at the Emmy Awards last night, Luna revealed that he has seven days left of filming the second season of “Andor.”  Variety shared the interview on social media which you can see below:

Andor Season 2 Delayed

Disney+ UK recently revealed some of the exclusive originals slated for 2024 on Disney+. This list included two new live-action Star Wars series, “Star Wars: The Acolyte” and “Star Wars: Skeleton Crew”. Notably absent from this lineup was “Andor”, hinting at a possible delay for the series until 2025.

What Is Andor About?

The “Andor” series explores a new perspective from the Star Wars galaxy, focusing on Cassian Andor’s journey to discover the difference he can make. The series brings forward the tale of the burgeoning rebellion against the Empire and how people and planets became involved. It’s an era filled with danger, deception and intrigue where Cassian will embark on the path that is destined to turn him into a rebel hero.

Diego Luna returns as Cassian Andor and is joined by cast members Genevieve O’Reilly, Stellan Skarsgård, Adria Arjona, Denise Gough, Kyle Soller and Fiona Shaw.

The executive producers are Kathleen Kennedy, Sanne Wohlenberg, Diego Luna and Michelle Rejwan. Tony Gilroy is the creator and showrunner.

Season 1 consists of 12 episodes. The second season will also consist of 12 episodes with the final episode leading into Rogue One.
