In the recent quarterly earnings conference call, Disney’s CEO, Bob Iger, announced that the ad-supported tier (Disney+ Basic) is set to launch in Europe by the end of the year.
The advertising-supported tier was introduced in the United States in December 2022, and it was disclosed last year that Disney+ planned to expand this ad-based tier to international markets in 2023.
Currently, no pricing details have been announced for the ad-supported plan. To provide some context, Disney+ in the US features two subscription levels: Disney+ Premium at $10.99 per month and Disney+ Basic at $7.99 per month.
Disney also announced that the ad-supported plan will increase in price in the United States later this year. No further details have been announced at this time.
