Disney+ Hits Estimated 3.2 Million App Downloads on Launch Day


Disney+ launched in the US, Canada and the Netherlands on November 12, 2019. Disney+ has exceeded expectations with over 10 million subscribers on launch day.

In the first 24 hours after its official Nov. 12 launch, the Disneymobile app for iOS and Android was downloaded 3.2 million times, according to research firm Apptopia. About 89% of the downloads were in the U.S., with 9% in Canada and 2% in the Netherlands.

By comparison, Apptopia estimates in the U.S., Canada and the Netherlands, the number of Netflix downloads was 140,000 over that time.

Just keep in mind that these numbers are estimates based more than 250,000 users to create this data. The figures only include mobile apps, which doesn’t count for Apple TV, Roku etc.
