Disney+ officially launched in the United States in November 2019 and has since continued to launch in other markets. The streaming service has reached over 73 million paid subscribers around the world including Europe, India, Latin America, Japan and Indonesia. Disney+ is also looking to launch in South East Asia in 2021. Now, there are new reports that Disney is looking to expand the service to Taiwan and South Korea in 2021 as well.
According to Ctee, Disney is currently in active negotiations with three Taiwan telecommunication companies, Chunghwa Telecom, Taiwan’s Big Brother and FarEasy. They are also in talks to partner up with Taiwan Telecom company Sanxiong.
Additional details are expected to be revealed during Disney’s Investor Day which takes place this Thursday, December 10th. The event is scheduled to begin at approximately 4:30 p.m. ET / 1:30 p.m. PT and last approximately four hours.
