Disney Reportedly Cuts Ties With Scarlett Johansson & Cancels Tower of Terror Film

Last month, Scarlett Johansson created quite a stir when it was reported the actress had filed a lawsuit against The Walt Disney Company over Black Widow’s streaming release on Disney+. The actress cited breach of contract because the Marvel Studios film had been guaranteed an exclusive theatrical release when she signed her contract.

Disney was quick to respond to the claim saying the lawsuit had “no merit whatsoever” and also said it was “sad and distressing in its callous disregard for the horrific and prolonged global effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.”

Now, according to a new report from Giant Freaking Robot, it appears Disney is planning on severing all ties with the actress for upcoming projects including the Tower of Terror reboot which was reportedly in development.  The site states that thanks to one of our trusted and proven inside sources, we’ve learned that Disney has closed their ties and future projects with Scarlett Johansson.

Johansson was reportedly said to produce and star in the Tower of Terror movie and Josh Cooley (Toy Story 4, Inside Out) had been tapped to write the script.

Please note this has not been officially confirmed by Disney so we consider this to be a rumor for now, but given the recent events that have taken place, the idea does seem plausible.
