A new report from Murphy’s Multiverse says Marvel Studios is getting ready to begin filming Doctor Strange: In the Multiverse of Madness.  The article states the project will begin filming in November in the UK.

Originally, the Doctor Strange sequel was supposed to start filming in the Spring, however those plans were halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The studio then set its eyes to start production in early 2021, but it looks like those plans have been fast tracked for an earlier start.

The sequel will see the return of Benedict Cumberbatch as the sorcerer supreme, Benedict Wong as Wong, and also introduce Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch. Her Disney+ series WandaVision will lead directly into the film.

Plot details are being kept under wraps, but the film is expected to introduce multiversal hero America Chavez, Jericho Drumm and Clea to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Sam Raimi (the original Spider-Man trilogy) will be directing and the script will be written by Jade Bartlett (The Turning).

Doctor Strange: In the Multiverse of Madness was expected to hit theaters on May 7, 2021, but because of the coronavirus pandemic, the film was moved to a November 5, 2021 release before eventually landing on March 25, 2022.
