Ed Harris has reportedly joined the cast of Marvel’s upcoming “Wonder Man” Disney+ series.
According to YouTube personality Jeff Snieder, Ed Harris will play Simon’s agent, Neal Saroyan.
Some of Ed Harris’ credits include The Rock, Enemy at the Gates, The Truman Show and National Treasure: Book of Secrets, and most recently, Top Gun: Maverick.
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings filmmaker Destin Daniel Cretton will reportedly executive produce and direct an episode or more. Stella Meghie (The Photograph) has been tapped to direct multiple episodes. Andrew Guest, a writer-producer on comedies such as Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Community, will serve as head writer.
Ben Kingsley will reprise his role as Trevor Slattery in the upcoming Marvel series. According to Deadline, Ben Kingsley’s Slattery is a failed actor who posed as the main baddie in Iron Man 3. Tony Stark foils him. Slattery returned as a good guy in last year’s Shang-Chi and the Legends of the Ten Rings. Bob Odenkirk (Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul) and Lauren Glazier (Mindhunter, Tales of the Walking Dead) are also rumored for undisclosed roles in the series.
Created in the 1960s, Wonder Man aka Simon Williams, was a villain turned hero with various super powers ranging from strength to speed to Ionic Energy Manipulation and even teleportation. The character was first introduced in 1964 in the pages of Avengers No 9.
Production on the project is set to begin this spring and will continue through August.
The series will reportedly consist of 10 episodes. A Disney+ release date for “Wonder Man” has not been announced yet.
