2021 was a great year for Star Wars fans with Star Wars: The Bad Batch kicking things off, followed by Star Wars: Visions, and finally The Book of Boba Fett. The good news is that 2022 is set to be an even bigger year for Star Wars fans!
It’s important to note that this list might change with possibly even more announcements later in the year. While there are plenty of rumours, this list is only for confirmed 2022 Star Wars content.
Here is a rundown of everything Star Wars coming to Disney+ in 2022.
“The Book Of Boba Fett”
“The Book of Boba Fett,” a thrilling Star Wars adventure teased in a surprise end-credit sequence following the Season 2 finale of “The Mandalorian,” finds legendary bounty hunter Boba Fett and mercenary Fennec Shand navigating the galaxy’s underworld when they return to the sands of Tatooine to stake their claim on the territory once ruled by Jabba the Hutt and his crime syndicate.
“The Book of Boba Fett” stars Temuera Morrison and Ming-Na Wen. Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Robert Rodriguez, Kathleen Kennedy and Colin Wilson are the executive producers. Karen Gilchrist and Carrie Beck serve as co-executive producers, with John Bartnicki producing and John Hampian as co-producer.
The Star Wars series will premiere on Disney+ on Wednesday, December 29th, with new episodes arriving every Wednesday through February 9, 2022.
“Obi-Wan Kenobi,” begins 10 years after the dramatic events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith where Kenobi faced his greatest defeat, the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker turned evil Sith Lord Darth Vader.
Previously announced cast includes Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan and Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader. The series will also see the return of Joel Edgerton as Owen Lars and Bonnie Piesse as Beru Lars. Star Wars newcomers include Eternals‘ Kumail Nanjiani, Game of Thrones‘ Indira Varma and Rupert Friend. Rumors also suggest that Sung Kang could portray one of the Empire’s Inquisitors from the animated series Star Wars Rebels.
Obi-Wan Kenobi will debut on Disney+ in 2022.
“Andor” follows the adventures of Rebel spy Cassian Andor during the formative years of the Rebellion five years prior to the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. The rousing spy thriller will explore tales filled with espionage and daring missions to restore hope to a galaxy in the grip of a ruthless Empire.
“Andor” will consist of 12 episodes and debut on Disney+ sometime in 2022.
Star Wars: The Bad Batch – Season 2
“Star Wars: The Bad Batch” follows the elite and experimental clones of the Bad Batch (first introduced in “The Clone Wars”) as they find their way in a rapidly changing galaxy in the immediate aftermath of the Clone War. Members of Bad Batch—a unique squad of clones who vary genetically from their brothers in the Clone Army—each possess a singular exceptional skill that makes them extraordinarily effective soldiers and a formidable crew.
The series is executive produced by Dave Filoni (“The Mandalorian,” “Star Wars: The Clone Wars”), Athena Portillo (“Star Wars: The Clone Wars,” “Star Wars Rebels”), Brad Rau (“Star Wars Rebels,” “Star Wars Resistance”) and Jennifer Corbett (“Star Wars Resistance,” “NCIS”) with Carrie Beck (“The Mandalorian,” “Star Wars Rebels”) as co-executive producer and Josh Rimes as producer (“Star Wars Resistance”). Rau is also serving as supervising director with Corbett as head writer.
Season 2 will premiere in 2022.
