The beginning of the month will often see Disney remove certain titles from Disney+ due to existing contracts. January 2023 will continue that trend as six titles have been removed from Disney+ in the United States so far.
The removals came as a bit of a surprise since Disney+ does not announce which titles will be leaving every month like other streaming services such as Netflix and Hulu.
All of the titles below are expected to return to Disney+ after pre-existing streaming contracts expire.
X-Men
‘X-Men’ has been removed from Disney+ in the United States.
The movie is now available to stream on Starz in the United States.
The film will return to Disney+ when contracts expire that were made before The Walt Disney Company purchased 20th Century Fox.
It’s expected that ‘X-Men’ will be eligible to stream on Disney+ beginning on January 01, 2024.
The movie remains available on Disney+ outside the United States.
‘X-Men: First Class’
‘X-Men: First Class’ has been removed from Disney+ in the United States.
The movie is now available to stream on Starz in the United States.
The film will to return to Disney+ when contracts expire that were made before The Walt Disney Company purchased 20th Century Fox.
It’s expected that ‘X-Men: First Class’ will be eligible to stream on Disney+ beginning on January 01, 2024.
The movie remains available on Disney+ outside the United States.
‘Rookie of the Year’
‘Rookie of the Year’ (1993) has been removed from Disney+ in the United States.
The movie will be available to stream on Starz in the United States. It’s expected that ’Rookie of the Year’ will remain on Starz until April 1, 2024, and then return to Disney+ sometime after that.
The movie remains available on Disney+ outside the United States.
‘Thumbelina’
‘Thumbelina’ has been removed from Disney+ in the United States.
The movie will be available to stream on Starz in the United States from January 13, 2022. It’s expected that ’Thumbelina’ will remain on Starz until April 1, 2024, and then return to Disney+ sometime after that.
The movie remains available on Disney+ outside the United States.
‘The Book Of Life’
‘The Book Of Life’ has been removed from Disney+ in the United States.
The movie is now available to stream on HBO Max in the United States.
The film is expected to return to Disney+ when contracts expire that were made before The Walt Disney Company purchased 20th Century Fox.
The movie remains available on Disney+ outside the United States.
