First Look: What’s Coming to Disney+ in November (US)

Here is a first look at what’s coming to Disney+ in the United States in November 2021.

Marvel’s highly anticipated “Hawkeye” series will debut on November 24th. “Home Sweet Home Alone,” the Home Alone reboot, premieres on November 12th, on that same day, “Jungle Cruise” will be free for all Disney+ subscribers and “Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.” makes its debut on the streamer.  “The Beatles: Get Back,” a Disney+ Original documentary series directed by Peter Jackson, will roll out over three days, November 25, 26, and 27th.  New episodes will also continue to be released for “Doogie Kamealoha, M.D.” and more.

We’ll update this list throughout the month when Disney announces new titles coming in November. Please note: This list isn’t complete and more will be announced in October.

‘Doogie Kamealoha M.D.’ – Episode 9

“Doogie Kamealoha, M.D.” – a coming-of-age dramedy inspired by the hit medical series “Doogie Howser, M.D.” – follows Lahela “Doogie” Kamealoha, a 16-year-old prodigy juggling a budding medical career and life as a teenager. With the support of her caring and comical ‘ohana (family) and friends, Lahela is determined to make the most of her teenage years and forge her own path.

Guiding Lahela (and also complicating things) is her career-driven mother Dr. Clara Hannon who’s also her supervisor at the hospital, her doting father Benny who helps keep her connected to what matters most, her free-spirited older brother Kai, her gregarious younger brother Brian Patrick, her best friend Steph, her surfer crush Walter and her fellow hospital colleagues, Dr. Lee, Charles and Noelani.

Home Sweet Home Alone – Premiere

Max Mercer is a mischievous and resourceful young boy who has been left behind while his family is in Japan for the holidays. So when a married couple attempting to retrieve a priceless heirloom set their sights on the Mercer family’s home, it is up to Max to protect it from the trespassers…and he will do whatever it takes to keep them out. Hilarious hijinks of epic proportions ensue, but despite the absolute chaos, Max comes to realize that there really is no place like home sweet home.

The film stars Ellie Kemper (“Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt”), Rob Delaney (“Deadpool 2”), Archie Yates (“Jojo Rabbit”), Aisling Bea (“Living with Yourself”), Kenan Thompson (“Saturday Night Live”), Tim Simons (“Veep”), Pete Holmes (“The Secret Life of Pets 2”), Devin Ratray (“Home Alone”), Ally Maki (“Toy Story 4”), Chris Parnell (“Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues”) and is directed by Dan Mazer (“Dirty Grandpa”).

“Olaf Presents,” sees Frozen’s beloved snowman retelling several classic Disney tales as only he can.

An animated short film from Pixar, featuring characters from this summer’s animated hit breakout film “Luca.”


The World According to Jeff Goldblum Season 2 (Episodes 1-5)

Goldblum investigates the science, history and connections behind everyday objects, with help from scientists, industry leaders and other people who are intimately connected to those objects.

NEW LIBRARY TITLES

Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings

“Shang-Chi” follows the title character who must confront the past he thought he left behind when he is drawn into the web of the mysterious Ten Rings organization.

The film is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and produced by Kevin Feige and Jonathan Schwartz, with Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, and Charles Newirth serving as executive producers. David Callaham & Destin Daniel Cretton & Andrew Lanham wrote the screenplay for the film.

The movie stars Simu Liu, Tony Leung as Wenwu, Awkwafina as Shang-Chi’s friend Katy, and Michelle Yeoh as Jiang Nan, as well as Fala Chen, Meng’er Zhang, Florian Munteanu, and Ronny Chieng.


Jungle Cruise – Available To All Disney+ Subscribers

Inspired by the famous Disneyland theme park ride, Disney’s Jungle Cruise is an adventure-filled, rollicking thrill-ride down the Amazon with wisecracking skipper Frank Wolff and intrepid researcher Dr. Lily Houghton. Lily travels from London, England to the Amazon jungle and enlists Frank’s questionable services to guide her downriver on La Quila—his ramshackle-but-charming boat. Lily is determined to uncover an ancient tree with unparalleled healing abilities—possessing the power to change the future of medicine. Thrust on this epic quest together, the unlikely duo encounters innumerable dangers and supernatural forces, all lurking in the deceptive beauty of the lush rainforest. But as the secrets of the lost tree unfold, the stakes reach even higher for Lily and Frank and their fate—and mankind’s—hangs in the balance. 

Jaume Collet-Serra directs the film, which stars Dwayne Johnson, Emily Blunt, Edgar Ramírez and Jack Whitehall, with Jesse Plemons, and Paul Giamatti.

Adventure Thru the Walt Disney Archives

 

The documentary explores beloved parts of Disney—including its theme parks and Studio lot—through an engaging, historical lens, as legendary producer Don Hahn (Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, Maleficent) speaks with Walt Disney Archives director Becky Cline and other members of the Archives team. Each stop on the adventure offers a look at some of the iconic treasures that have played a role in shaping The Walt Disney Company. The film, directed by John Gleim, features new interviews with Disney Executive Chairman Bob Iger, Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige, Pixar’s Pete Docter, film historian Leonard Maltin, and many more.

Hawkeye – Episode 1 & 2

Like most Marvel projects, plot details are being kept under wraps, but we do know Jeremy Renner will return as Cliff Barton and the series will focus on Hawkeye passing the baton to Kate Bishop who is played by Hailee Steinfeld.

“Hawkeye” will also star Vera Farmiga as Eleanor Bishop, Fra Fee as The Clown, Tony Dalton as Swordsman, Alaqua Cox as Echo, Zahn McClarnon William Lopez, and Florence Pugh reprising her Black Widow role of Yelena Belova.  British stage and screen actor Simon Callow has also reportedly been cast in a key role in the series.

Directed by three-time Oscar®-winning filmmaker Peter Jackson (“The Lord of the Rings” trilogy, “They Shall Not Grow Old”), “The Beatles: Get Back” takes audiences back in time to the band’s intimate recording sessions during a pivotal moment in music history. The documentary showcases the warmth, camaraderie and creative genius that defined the legacy of the iconic foursome, compiled from over 60 hours of unseen footage shot in January 1969 (by Michael Lindsay-Hogg) and more than 150 hours of unheard audio, all of which has been brilliantly restored.Jackson is the only person in 50 years to have been given access to these private film archives. “The Beatles: Get Back” is the story of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr as they plan their first live show in over two years, capturing the writing and rehearsing of 14 new songs, originally intended for release on an accompanying live album. The documentary features – for the first time in its entirety – The Beatles’ last live performance as a group, the unforgettable rooftop concert on London’s Savile Row, as well as other songs and classic compositions featured on the band’s final two albums, Abbey Road and Let It Be.
