‘Futurama’ Season 8 Release Window Confirmed

In February 2022, Disney announced that the animated sci-fi comedy hit “Futurama” will be revived for a 20-episode run on Hulu and Disney+.

The series first aired on Fox for five seasons before moving to Comedy Central for 3 more seasons.  “Futurama” centers around pizza delivery guy Fry who accidentally freezes himself in 1999 and wakes up a thousand years later.

It has now been confirmed by Streamr via Hulu that season 8 will return to Disney+ and Hulu this Summer.

This also backs up what Lauren Tom, who voices Amy on the show, revealed earlier this year. A fan asked about the revival, and Tom said the following, “The new episodes should be released sometime this summer.” she said. “Can’t wait for you to see them!”

An exact release date hasn’t been announced, but we should start to learn more in the weeks ahead.

According to ScreenRant, ten of the episode titles have been confirmed for the reboot.  You can view the list of official episode titles below:

  • “The Impossible Stream,”
  • “Rage Against The Vaccine,”
  • “Zapp Gets Cancelled”
  • “The Prince And The Product,”
  • “Related To Items You’ve Viewed”
  • “Children Of A Lesser Bog”
  • “How The West Was 1010001,”
  • “I Know What You Did Last Xmas”
  • “Parasites Regained”
  • “All The Way Down.”

Original voice actors John DiMaggio (Bender) Billy West (Fry) and Katey Sagal (Leela) along with ensemble players who voiced multiple characters Tress MacNeille, Maurice LaMarche, Lauren Tom, Phil LaMarr and David Herman will all return.

Creators Matt Groening and David X. Cohen are also set to return.
