Last February, it was announced that the animated sci-fi comedy hit “Futurama” had been revived for a 20-episode run on Hulu which will premiere in 2023. The “Futurama” revival will also release on Disney+ internationally including the UK and Ireland.
The series first aired on Fox for five seasons before moving to Comedy Central for 3 more seasons. “Futurama” centers around pizza delivery guy Fry who accidentally freezes himself in 1999 and wakes up a thousand years later.
Original voice actors John DiMaggio (Bender) Billy West (Fry) and Katey Sagal (Leela) along with ensemble players who voiced multiple characters Tress MacNeille, Maurice LaMarche, Lauren Tom, Phil LaMarr and David Herman will all return.
Creators Matt Groening and David X. Cohen are also set to return.
News has been pretty quiet on the revival but we may now know the release window for when the series will launch on Hulu and on Disney+.
Lauren Tom, who voices Amy on the show, shared a photo of herself with the “Futurama” cast from San Francisco. A fan asked about the revival, and Tom said the following, “The new episodes should be released sometime this summer.” she said. “Can’t wait for you to see them!”
