FX’s Great Expectations | Episode 3 Trailer – Miss Havisham’s Plan

FX has released a trailer for Episode 3 of the limited series “Great Expectations,” based on the Charles Dickens novel.  Stream new episodes of FX’s Great Expectations every Sunday on Hulu.

In Episode 3, having left his life in Gravesend, Pip (Fionn Whitehead) has a brutal introduction to London, working for Mr. Jaggers (Ashley Thomas). Meanwhile Estella (Shalom Brune-Franklin) discovers a plan of Miss Havisham’s (Olivia Colman).

Produced by FX Productions in association with the BBC, Scott Free and Hardy Son & Baker, “Great Expectations” is the coming-of-age story of Pip (Fionn Whitehead), an orphan who yearns for a greater lot in life until a twist of fate introduces him to the mysterious and eccentric Miss Havisham (Olivia Colman) and Estella (Shalom Brune-Franklin), showing him a dark world of possibilities. Under the great expectations placed upon him, Pip will have to work out the cost of this new world and whether it will truly make him the man he wishes to be.

The six-episode series will star: Olivia Colman (“The Favourite,” “The Crown”) as Miss Havisham, Fionn Whitehead (“Dunkirk,” “Bandersnatch”) as Pip, Ashley Thomas (“Them,” “The Night Of”) as Jaggers, Johnny Harris (“London to Brighton,” “This Is England ’86”) as Magwitch, Shalom Brune-Franklin (“Roadkill,” “Line of Duty”) as Estella, Hayley Squires (“I, Daniel Blake,” “The Electrical Life of Louis Wain”) as Sara, Owen McDonnell (“Killing Eve,” “Women on the Verge” as Joe, Trystan Gravelle (“A Discovery of Witches,” “The Terror”) as Compeyson, and Matt Berry (“What We Do in the Shadows,” “Toast of London”) as Mr. Pumblechuck.

Lucy Forbes (“The End of the F***ing World”) will serve as lead director.

Steven Knight (“Peaky Blinders”) is writing the adaptation and exec producer.  The series will also be executive produced by Tom Hardy, Ridley Scott, Dean Baker, David W. Zucker, Kate Crowe and Mona Qureshi.

The series is produced by FX Productions in association with the BBC, Scott Free and Hardy Son & Baker.

“Great Expectations” will also air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer in the U.K. and will stream on Star+ in Latin America and on Disney+ internationally at a later date.
