Harrison Ford Resumes Filming ‘Indiana Jones 5’ After Shoulder Injury

Production for the fifth installment in the Indiana Jones franchise began in June in the U.K.  Shortly after filming started, Harrison Ford injured his shoulder while rehearsing a fight scene, aggravating an old injury.  The injury required surgery and production was halted while Ford recovered for 10 weeks.

According to The Sun, Ford has returned to set in Buckinghamshire and has resumed filming again.

Plot details have been kept under wraps for the film however there have been some rumors that the story could involve a 1960s space race theme.

Previously announced cast includes Harrison Ford as the titular character, Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag), Mads Mikkelsen (Hannibal), Thomas Kretschmann (Avengers: Age of Ultron), Boyd Holbrook (Narcos) and Shaunette Renée Wilson (Black Panther).

James Mangold is directing the film. Spielberg serves as a producer and is very much involved in the project. Kathleen Kennedy, Frank Marshall, and Simon Emanuel are also producing along with Spielberg.

“Indiana Jones 5” is set to release in theaters on July 29, 2022.
