The show is based on TF1’s popular detective series “HPI” (High Intellectual Potential) and is targeted for the 2023-24 season. The show has been one of the most successful French-language shows on French TV in the last 10 years.
“High Potential” centers on Morgan (Olson), a single mom with three kids and an exceptional mind who helps solve an unsolvable crime when she rearranges some evidence during her shift as a cleaner for the police department. When they discover she has a knack for putting things in order because of her high intellectual potential she is brought on as a consultant to work with a by-the-book seasoned detective, Karadec (Sunjata), and together they form an unusual and unstoppable team.
Cast includes Kaitlin Olson (It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia), Daniel Sunjata (Echoes), and Amirah J (Shameless).
Javicia Leslie (Batwoman), Deniz Akdeniz (The Flight Attendant) and Judy Reyes also star.
Drew Goddard (Daredevil, The Martian) will serve as writer. Alethea Jones (Mrs. Davis) serves as director and executive producer. Veronica Mars creator Rob Thomas will serve as executive producer and showrunner. Olson serves as producer.
Goddard and Sarah Esberg of Goddard Textiles executive produce alongside Pierre Laugier, Anthony Lancret and Jean Nainchrik of Newen Connect, the distribution company which sold the rights to ABC Signature.
The show will air on ABC and stream on Hulu in the United States and is likely to release on Disney+ internationally.
