‘Hocus Pocus 2’ Loses Shankman As Director, Anne Fletcher Steps In

The DisInsider is reporting that Anne Fletcher has replaced Adam Shankman as director in the upcoming Hocus Pocus 2 film.

Shankman was attached to direct both Disenchanted and the Hocus Pocus sequel, however, there were scheduling conflicts with both movies set to begin filming this summer.

Director and choreographer Anne Fletcher, is best known for her choreography work which spans over 25 years, in addition to directing films including 2009’s The Proposal.

Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy will reprise their roles as The Sanderson Sisters in the film. The script has been written by Jen D’Angelo (Workaholics).

The film does not have a release date set as of yet but is expected to premiere on Disney+ sometime next year.

In the classic 1993 Halloween film, Bette Midler joins Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy as three outlandishly wild witches who return from 17th Century Salem for a night of zany fun and comic chaos.

After they’re accidentally conjured up by some unsuspecting pranksters, the tricky 300-year-old trio sets out to cast a spell on the town and reclaim their youth but first, they must outwit three feisty kids who are determined to foil their scheme!
