‘House of the Dragon’ Writer Reportedly Boards Marvel’s ‘Vision Quest’ Disney+ Series

Last October, Deadline reported that a Disney+ series focusing on the MCU character Vision was rumored to be in the works at Marvel.

The series will be titled “Vision Quest” and will reportedly be about The Vision (Paul Bettany) trying to regain his memory and humanity.  The article also stated that there is a possibility for Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) to appear in the series.

“Vision Quest” has previously added Megan McDonnell and Peter Cameron to its writers’ room.

Per The Direct, McDonnell previously served as a writer on WandaVision, with her being credited for Episode 3 and Episode 4. She is also the writer of The Marvels and episodes of Agatha: Coven of Chaos.  Cameron also has a writing credit on WandaVision, serving as a co-writer on Episodes 5 and 6. He also holds credits as a writer and producer on Moon Knight, helping to write Episodes 3, 4, and 6. Cameron also co-wrote the teleplay for Michael Giacchino’s Werewolf By Night.

According to a new piece of information, House of the Dragon writer Eileen Shim has reportedly joined the project.  The news comes from Shim’s Writers Guild of America profile which lists “Vision Quest” as a credit however a job title has not been attached yet.

As always, since Marvel or Disney has not confirmed the above information, we will treat this as a rumor for now.

“Vision Quest” is overseen by WandaVision creator, writer and executive producer Jac Schaeffer.

Paul Bettany first appeared as the voice of Jarvis in Ironman.  Vision’s live-action debut was in Avengers: Age of Ultron. He went on to appear in Captain America: Civil War and both Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame.  Most recently, Vision was seen in the Disney+ Original series WandaVision.

A release date for “Vision Quest” has not been announced yet but is expected to arrive on Disney+ in 2025.
