“How I Met Your Father,” the Hilary Duff-fronted spinoff of “How I Met Your Mother,” has been canceled after two seasons. The series originally premiered in January 2022, and is streaming on Hulu and Disney+ Internationally. The series had a total run of 30 episodes.
The show wrapped up its second and final season on July 11, leaving viewers in suspense about the identity of the father of Sophie’s child, Duff’s character.
The first season of “How I Met Your Father” initially featured a 10-episode run, while the second season received an uncommonly generous order of 20 additional episodes—a rarity for television series in the streaming age.
“In the near future, Sophie (Duff) is telling her son the story of how she met his father: a story that catapults us back to the present where Sophie and her close-knit group of friends are in the midst of figuring out who they are, what they want out of life, and how to fall in love in the age of dating apps and limitless options.”
