The first season of “How I Met Your Father” will be coming to Freeform in the United States next month. The series will premiere on Freeform on Tuesday, April 25, starting with the first two episodes, “Pilot” and “Fomo,” at 10 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. ET, respectively. In the near future, Sophie (Hilary Duff) is telling her son the story of how she met his father: a story that catapults us back to the year 2022 where Sophie and her close-knit group of friends are in the midst of figuring out who they are, what they want out of life, and how to fall in love in the age of dating apps and limitless options.
Cast includes Francia Raisa (Grown-ish), Tom Ainsley (Versailles), Tien Tran (Space Force), Daniel Augustin (David Makes Man) and Suraj Sharma (God Friended Me), Josh Peck (Turner & Hooch) and Ashley Reyes ( American Gods). Kim Cattrall will play the future version of Hilary Duff’s character Sophie, who is telling her son the story of how she met his father, much like Josh Radnor (and Bob Saget’s) Ted Mosby did in the original series.
The show is created by This Is Us producers Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger. alongside HIMYM creators/exec producers Carter Bays and Craig Thomas and the original series’ director/exec producer Pam Fryman, as well as Adam Londy. Duff serves as a producer.
20th Television is the studio.
Season one of the series consists of 10 episodes and the second season consists of 20 episodes.
Season 1 is available to stream now on Hulu in the United States and also on Disney+ in many countries including the United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
The second season is currently streaming on Hulu in the United States and on Disney+ in Canada and Australia. Season 2 will begin streaming on Disney+ in the United Kingdom on Wednesday, April 19, 2023.
