How Does Parental Control Work On Disney+ Star?

Disney+ is set to gain a massive amount of new content in the UK, Australia, Canada, New Zealand and across Europe when ‘Star’ launches on February 23, 2021.

Star will become the sixth brand to launch on Disney+, joining entertainment favourites Marvel, Pixar, Star Wars, National Geographic and Disney. Star promises more: more TV series, more movies, more originals.

Star will become home to thousands of hours of television and movies from Disney’s creative studios, including Disney Television Studios, FX, 20th Century Studios and 20th Television.

Disney+ has always had some parental control, but with mature titles such as Die Hard and Borat, Disney definitely needs more robust parental controls.

The first time you log in to Disney+ from 23 February, you’ll receive a pop-up message asking to confirm if this profile should have access to the entire Star collecting and making the profile 18+. You can also restrict access to more mature entertainment, so only family-friendly TV series and movies appear on the Disney+ home screen.

Easy-to-use content settings

You’ll be able to set a content rating for each profile, which applies to all entertainment across Disney+. Restrict a profile to 14+ to make sure your teen only sees what’s right for them; or create a kids’ profile for the little ones so they can’t access Star at all.

For adults, simply set your content rating to 18+ by entering your account password and enjoy all the thrilling new TV series, movies and originals coming to Disney+ with Star.

PIN-protected profiles

Keep the kids from exploring Star using a customisable, four-digit PIN for each profile. This optional feature prevents anyone accessing your profile without your PIN.

All options can be changed in the Disney+ settings.
