Hulu Says ‘Only Murders In The Building’ Season 3 Finale Was Most Watched For 2023

Hulu reports that Season 3 of “Only Murders in the Building” had the most viewed 2023 finale on the streamer, based on views after its first day streaming.

A view is defined as total stream time divided by runtime. Hulu released the results but did not provide details other than to say the series remains its most watched original comedy ever.

According to Hulu, Season 3 consistently secured a spot among the platform’s Top 15 shows, and since its debut, it has maintained a presence in Nielsen’s Top 10 list of original series. Notably, on the premiere day of Season 3, the series garnered more views than any other scripted Hulu Original released in 2023.

All 10 episodes from the third season are now streaming on Hulu in the US and Disney+ internationally, including Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and Ireland.

“Only Murders in the Building” follows three strangers (Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez) who share an obsession with true crime and suddenly find themselves wrapped up in one. When a grisly death occurs inside their exclusive Upper West Side apartment building, the trio suspects murder and employs their precise knowledge of true crime to investigate the truth. As they record a podcast of their own to document the case, the three unravel the complex secrets of the building which stretch back years. Perhaps even more explosive are the lies they tell one another. Soon, the endangered trio comes to realize a killer might be living amongst them as they race to decipher the mounting clues before it’s too late.

This season finds Charles, Oliver & Mabel (played by Steve Martin, Martin Short & Selena Gomez) investigating a murder behind the scenes of a Broadway show. Ben Glenroy (Paul Rudd) is a Hollywood action star whose Broadway debut is cut short by his untimely death. Aided by co-star Loretta Durkin (Meryl Streep), our trio embarks on their toughest case yet, all while director Oliver desperately attempts to put his show back together. Curtain up!

Series regulars include Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez.

“Only Murders in the Building” hails from co-creators and writers Steve Martin and John Hoffman (“Grace & Frankie,” “Looking”). Martin and Hoffman executive produce along with Martin Short, Selena Gomez, “This Is Us” creator Dan Fogelman and Jess Rosenthal.
