James Gunn Confirms ‘Guardians of the Galaxy 3’ Not Delayed Like Other Marvel Films

Yesterday, Marvel announced that they had delayed the theatrical release dates for several upcoming films, including “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” “Thor: Love and Thunder,” “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” and more.  One of the films that was not mentioned was “Guardians of the Galaxy 3′ which left fans wondering if the beloved franchise would see a delay for its third installment.

James Gunn, who is the director of Guardians 3, took to Twitter to ease everyone’s minds and even teased that principal photography was beginning soon on the film. You can read that tweet below:

James Gunn is again penning and directing the third film in the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise.

Returning cast for the third film includes Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista and Karen Gillan.  Last week it was announced that Will Poulter had joined the cast as the cosmic hero Adam Warlock.

“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” is set to release in theaters on May 5, 2023.
