Jamie Lee Curtis Teases ‘Freaky Friday’ Sequel ‘Is Going to Happen’

Disney’s “Freaky Friday” movie starring Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan was released in 2003.  In the film, Dr. Tess Coleman and her teenage daughter Anna have one thing in common – they don’t relate to each other on anything. Then one night a little mystic mayhem changes their lives and they wake up to the biggest freak-out ever. Tess and Anna are trapped inside each other’s body! But Tess’s wedding is Saturday and the two must find a way to switch back – fast! Literally forced to walk in each other’s shoes, will they gain respect and understanding for the other’s point of view?

Now, twenty years later, it seems a sequel could be in development at Disney with both Curtis and Lohan returning. According to Variety, Curtis offered the ultimate tease on Saturday at the Producers Guild Awards.

“It’s going to happen,” she said. “Without saying there’s anything officially happening, I’m looking at you in this moment and saying, ‘Of course it’s going to happen.’ It’s going to happen.”

Additionally, the outlet reports on Feb. 14, Curtis shared a photo of her and Lohan on Instagram with the caption, “It’s Friday. I’m just sayin! Freaky fingers crossed!””  Lohan commented on the post with emojis of crossed fingers, a smiley face with heart eyes and two hands up.

“Freaky Friday” is available to stream now on Disney+ along with a 2018 version and the original version from 1976 starring Jodie Foster.
