“Jeremy Renner Interview” Disney+ Release Date Delayed

Last week, Disney announced that a new special, “Jeremy Renner: The Diane Sawyer Interview — A Story of Terror, Survival and Triumph,” will air on Thursday, April 6, on ABC and stream the next day on Hulu and Disney+ in the United States.

The interview was noticeably missing on Disney+ in the United States today and has been delayed, possibly indefinitely.

It’s unclear whether it was intentionally delayed or won’t be released on Disney+ at all. The interview is available on Hulu, and no international release date for other countries, such as the UK, Canada, Australia etc, has been announced. We reached out to Disney for comment.

Update: The interview is streaming now on Disney+ in the United States and Canada. More details here.

In the special, Jeremy Renner gives the first interview since his near-fatal snow plow accident with ABC News anchor Diane Sawyer.  The exclusive also features harrowing recollections of the accident from family members of Renner’s, including his nephew he was trying to protect, and behind-the-scenes snapshots from his ongoing journey to recovery.

The special airs a week before Renner’s new series “Rennervations” on Disney+.  The actor is expected to appear in person at the “Rennervations” world premiere, taking place April 11 at Los Angeles’ Regency Village Theater which will be his first press event since the accident.
