Eka Darville (Jessica Jones) is set to join 20th Century Studios’ “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes.” Darville’s character details are unknown at this time.
The reimagined film will also star Owen Teague, Freya Allen, Kevin Durand and Peter Macon.
Plot details for the next installment have been kept under wraps but starts the all-new chapter in the Apes saga, which reportedly picks up many years after the conclusion of 2017’s War for the Planet of the Apes.
Wes Ball (The Maze Runner) will direct. The screenplay is by Josh Friedman, Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver and Patrick Aison. Joe Hartwick Jr, Jaffa, Silver and Jason Reed are the film’s producers, with Peter Chernin and Jenno Topping exec producing.
Production starts this month and the film will arrive in 2024.
Darville appeared in the Marvel’s Jessica Jones series on Netflix as private investigator Malcolm Ducasse. Other credits include Her Smell, the CBS All Access anthology thriller Tell Me a Story, and Fox’s Empire.
