John David Washington Rumored For Marvel’s ‘Avengers: The Kang Dynasty’

Marvel Studios is currently searching for an actor to play Kang the Conqueror in the upcoming film “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.”  The studio is looking to replace Jonathan Majors for the role after the actor was convicted of assault and harassment of an ex-girlfriend.

According to industry insider Daniel RPK, John David Washington is now being eyed for the role.  The actor is Denzel Washington’s son and is best known for starring in The Creator,  Spike Lee’s Blackkklansman, and Christopher Nolan’s Tenet.

As always, since nothing has been confirmed by Marvel or Disney, we will treat this as a rumor for now.

Loki creator, Michael Waldron is reportedly attached to write Marvel Studios‘ Avengers: Kang Dynasty which is currently set to to release in theaters on May 1, 2026.  Waldron will also pen the script for Avengers: Secret Wars which will be released on May 7, 2027.  The later installment will wrap up the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase 6 features.

A search for a director is underway as Destin Daniel Cretton exited the film in order to focus on his other Marvel projects like the TV series Wonder Man.

Not much is known about “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.”  According to The Cosmic Circus, the film is reportedly using the working title Apple Pie 1.  Additionally, it has been revealed that “Avengers: Secret Wars” is using the working title Apple Pie 2.
