John Kassir has signed on to provide the voice for Ulysses the squirrel in the upcoming movie Flora and Ulysses coming to Disney+.
Kassir is best known to Disney fans for providing the voice work for Meeko in Pocahontas and Pocahontas 2: Journey to a New World.
Flora & Ulysses is an original movie based on the Newberry Award-winning children’s book “Flora & Ulysses: The Illuminated Adventures” by Kate DiCamillo and features an all star cast.
Directed by Lena Khan, Flora & Ulysses tells the story of a 10-year-old Flora, an avid comic book fan, who saves a squirrel she names Ulysses only to have its unique superhero powers wreak havoc in a series of humorous and antic-filled adventures that ultimately change Flora’s life forever.
Making her big-screen debut as Flora is Broadway star Matilda Lawler, with Alyson Hannigan (“How I Met Your Mother”) as Flora’s romance-writer mother Phyllis, Ben Schwartz (“Parks and Recreation”) as her estranged father George, Danny Pudi (“Community”) as an overly zealous animal control officer Miller, and newcomer Benjamin Evans Ainsworth as Flora’s friend William.
Jake Monaco has been tapped to compose the score.
A release date for Flora & Ulysses has not been announced yet.
