The previously announced cast includes Francia Raisa (Grown-ish), Tom Ainsley (Versailles), Tien Tran (Space Force), Daniel Augustin (David Makes Man)  and Suraj Sharma (God Friended Me).

According to Deadline, Peck will play Drew, the handsome vice principal at Jesse’s (Lowell) elementary school. Reyes plays Hannah. smart, practical, devoted to her job, Hannah is Sid’s (Sharma) girlfriend who’s a surgical resident in Los Angeles, so they are forced to maintain a long distance relationship.

Peck currently stars in the series Turner & Hooch which is now streaming on Disney+.  Other credits include Grandfathered and Drake & Josh.

Reyes was a series regular on Starz’s American Gods, and can be seen next in the indie film Slayers opposite Abigail Breslin and Malin Akerman.

Pam Fryman, who directed all but twelve episodes of How I Met Your Mother, has been tapped to executive produce and direct the pilot episode.

The show is created by This Is Us producers Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger. Pam Fryman, Carter Bays and Craig Thomas, creators of the original show, will also executive produce.

How I Met Your Mother aired on CBS for nine seasons with over 200 episodes from 2005-2014. The series starred Josh Radnor, Cobie Smulders, Neil Patrick Harris, Jason Segel, and Alyson Hannigan. Bob Saget provided the voice of the narrator, an older version of Radnor’s character Ted Mosby.

Filming for the series is reportedly underway in Los Angeles, California.  A release date has not been set yet for Hulu in the United States or internationally on Star on Disney+.
